Maths

In Maths this week, the children have been re-capping division and have been solving division problems and writing the alternative division calculations. It’s amazing to see how far they have come and how much progress they have made, as we struggled with this topic early last year. Here are some brilliant examples of the children’s work.

English

In English this week we have finally finished our topic on persuasive letters and we decided this week that we would write our own letters to Mrs Cook trying to persuade her to let us go to Yorkshire Wildlife park. We discussed the different features that we needed to use and boxed up our ideas before siting down and writing our letters whilst listening to Disney piano music. Our favourite part of the week. The children’s letters are amazing, I can’t believe that some have them have been written by Year Two students. They have worked so, so hard. Here are some sensational examples.

English

In English this week we adapted our class persuasive letter and the children decided where they would like to go on holiday. We looked at the features of persuasive letters and decided what we wanted to steal and change in our class letter which we learnt last week. The children have done amazingly well and it has been really hard to choose outstanding writer this week. Here are some examples of the children’s superb work.

Welcome back

Welcome back after a lovely break. I hope that you all had a lovely holiday and are ready for the last half term of the year!

English

In English this week we have started our persuasive letter topic. The children have been writing persuasive letters to a person of their choice asking them for something that they really, really want. I have been so impressed with the children’s ideas and reasons why they think they deserve what they want. I would definitely be persuaded after reading some of their letters. We then learnt a class letter and rehearsed and performed it to the rest of the class. Here are some examples of the children’s performances.
