Sports Day
Thank you so much to all of the parents and carers that cam to watch our sports day. The children worked so hard and we had so much fun in the sun. Here are some action shots of the children from the day.
Maths
In Maths this week, the children have been re-capping division and have been solving division problems and writing the alternative division calculations. It’s amazing to see how far they have come and how much progress they have made, as we struggled with this topic early last year. Here are some brilliant examples of the children’s work.
English
In English this week we have finally finished our topic on persuasive letters and we decided this week that we would write our own letters to Mrs Cook trying to persuade her to let us go to Yorkshire Wildlife park. We discussed the different features that we needed to use and boxed up our ideas before siting down and writing our letters whilst listening to Disney piano music. Our favourite part of the week. The children’s letters are amazing, I can’t believe that some have them have been written by Year Two students. They have worked so, so hard. Here are some sensational examples.

Topic
In topic this week we have continued learning about Africa and started learning more about the Massai tribe. We learnt about the difference is traditions, religions and beliefs and it was really interesting to see how people in other countries live and how different their lives are to ours. It made us really appreciate what we have, especially when we saw their mud huts. Here are some examples of the kids excellent topic work.
Writer of the week
Writer of the week this week is Ryan. Ryan has written an excellent persuasive letter which is presented beautifully. It has all of the correct features that I need and some well thought out rhetorical questions too. Excellent work Ryan . Keep it up.
Pupil of the week
Pupil of the week this week is Daniel. Daniel always tries hard and has produced some excellent independent work this week. He always helps others and his enthusiasm for learning is lovely to have in the class. Great work Daniel. Keep it up!
