Topic
In topic this week we started our new topic on the Titanic. We watched a video clip of the Titanic sinking and thought about the questions that we would like to find out about the event. We then used Ipads to find out facts about the Titanic and discussed the different reasons why the Titanic sank. Here are some examples of the children’s fantastic research.
English
In English this week we have been learning a non-chronological report. We learnt the report and used actions to help us to remember the sequence of the paragraphs. We also looked at the features of a non-chronological report and have started writing up our class report using the correct features.
Maths
In Maths this week we have been adding three single-digit numbers and have been doubling and halving numbers. I’ve been really impressed with how hard the children have all worked this week in their maths work. The children have done some super work. Here are some examples.
Writer of the week
Writer of the week this week is Molly. On Monday I asked the children to write a non-chronological report and write as many facts as they could remember about T-Rex. I was amazed by how much Molly had remembered from last year. She used all of the correct features and remembered so many facts about T-Rex. Excellent work Molly!
Pupil of the Week
Pupil of the week this week is Annabelle. Annabelle always works so hard and has made so much progress already this year. She never gives up and always does the right thing. She is also an amazing role model for out class. Super work Annabelle.
